A
watch is many things, including a work of art. But above
all it is a concept, a prism through which Man observes
Time. It is also a key to understanding and knowledge,
to conquest too.
Born
of the intelligence of generations, every single part
of a watch bears the indelible stamp of an inventive
mind. Little wonder Man has always treasured the "time
keepers" he has created. Indeed, philosophers, scientists
and artists were the first to discern in the watch a
symbolic bridge to a world of science and sagacity.
The
wise and thoughtful men who over the centuries contributed
to the development of horology eventually helped astronomers
search the heavens , gave navigators their bearings
an trackless seas and, in the end, endowed mankind with
a new dimension.
Traditional
watchmaking thus flourished in rich humanistic grounds,
its progress nourished by uncounted founts of accumulated
experience. An where Man's hand is guided by his spirit,
his creations take on a life of their own.
